Security Training Packages

 The Security Guard Instructor Development Certification Course is a one (1) week, 40 Hour certification course mandated by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services in order to become a Certified Security Guard Instructor.  

This is an 8 hour course required by New York State as the first step in obtaining a security guard registration card from New York State Department of State.  

This is a 16 hour course that must be completed within 90 days of employment as a security guard. The course provides the student with detailed information on the duties and responsibilities of a security guard.

This is an 8 hour course that must be completed within 12 calendar months from completion of the 16 Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards, and annually thereafter. The course is structured to provide the student with updated and enhanced information on the duties and responsibilities of a security guard.

This course provides training and assistance in passing various Certificate of Fitness Exams for sites which include Office Buildings, Shelters and Indoor/Outdoor event spaces around the city. 

*This is for anyone Applying for a New or Expired Security License, expired more than six (6) months.

NYS S/G LICENSING PROCESSING AGREEMENT

It is understood that A L M Security Training Academy (hereinafter referred to as A L M), will only process your security guard license application with the NYS Department of State (hereinafter referred to as the DOS).

It is also understood that A L M is simply a third-party Security Training School processing the license application on behalf of applicant and does not represent the DOS in any way.

It is also understood that the typical turnaround time for DOS to issue a Security License is approximately 4-6 weeks.

The turnaround time quoted is an approximation and is totally out of the control of A L M.  Applicant understands that A L M  will not process any Security license applications until all balances have been paid in full.

It is applicants’ sole responsibility to provide any additional information requested by the DOS once the security license application has been filed. Applicants’ failure to respond to notices received from the DOS regarding the license application within the time indicated on the DOS’ correspondence may be grounds for denial.

REVOCATION OF PAYMENTS/DEPOSITS

All fees paid for the processing of applicant’s security license application only covers: (1) Scheduling fingerprint appt; and (2) Processing license application.

A L M suggest that applicant contact the school immediately upon such notice for advice on how to respond or proceed. Any balances for the processing of the S/G license must be paid in full within 15 from the date of the initial deposit.

Failure will result in the revocation of any payments and/or deposits made.   Applicants’ failure to obtain and provide the NYS DMV ID # or fingerprint receipt, necessary to complete the S/G licensing process within 15 days from notice to obtain same will result in the revocation of all payments and/or deposits made. Any false information intentionally provided on a Security License application can be grounds for denial of license.

REFUNDS

All payments made for the processing of the NYS Security Guard License, regardless of approval or denial by the DOS are ABSOLUTELY NON-REFUNDABLE. A L M has no control over who is approved or denied for a security guard license by the DOS. Applicants with misdemeanor or felony convictions understand their cases are decided by the DOS on a case by case basis and acknowledge that license approval is not guaranteed nor has guaranteed approval been provided by A L M to me.
